Intellipute LLC Senior Developer Programmer/Analyst         05/2000 - Present

Projects

Forsythe Technology (6 months): Worked with companies Information Technology team to enhance, modify and upgrade existing order processing and sales proposal application, a Multi-tier Internet Web Application. The application made extensive use of COM and COM+ components written in VB. Responsibilities included design and development of business components, design and development of web pages, installation and configuration of web servers development of a Disaster Recovery Plan. Documentation was also provided in the form of an Administration Guide and a Programmers Guide. Technologies used: Internet Information Server 5.0, Windows NT Server 4.0, Windows 2000 Server, Windows 2000 Professional, Microsoft Project 2000, Oracle 8, Visual Interdev 6.0, Visual Basic 6.0, JavaScript, Visual Basic Script, Active Server Page Technology, Microsoft Office 2000 Automation, Visual Basic for Applications, COM technology, HTML, DHTML, ADO, MDAC and Visual Source Safe.

Accenture (1month): Developed an Internet Web Site for registration of major corporate event. Server side scripting of the web site took advantage of existing COM components that used an LDAP security model to authenticate user access. Data base information was stored in Microsoft SQL Server 7.0 database and integrated with Microsoft Access 2000 for on-site processing and reporting. As often happens with large corporations, this project did not get approval until 10 days before it was needed. With an expected high visibility to corporate executives, and with over 10,000 employees expected to access the site within a 2 week time frame, the web site had to be designed to handle the heavy traffic and to be robust and virtually error free. The project was completed on time and exceeded expectations. Responsibilities included web site development, database design, report generation and data-integration. Technologies used: Internet Information Server 5.0, Windows 2000 Server, Microsoft SQL Server 7.0, Visual Interdev 6.0, JavaScript, Visual Basic Script, Active Server Page Technology, Microsoft Access 2000, COM technology, HTML, DHTML, FrontPage 2000, ADO, MDAC and LDAP.

Forsythe Technology (4 months): Upgraded and enhanced an existing Client Server Application. The application is a custom accounting package responsible for processing sales commissions for a national sales force. The server was upgrade from Windows NT 4.0 Server running Microsoft SQL Server 6.5 to Windows 2000 Server running Microsoft SQL Server 2000. The client was upgraded from Visual Basic 5.0 and Crystal Reports 5.0 to Visual Basic 6.0 and Crystal Reports 6.0. The length of this project was originally estimated to last 5 months. It was completed in 4 months and came in under budget. Responsibilities included installation and configuration of the server software including Microsoft SQL Server; data integration with external database systems and legacy applications, primarily Oracle and Lawson; intensive modifications to the database structure and stored procedures; and intensive modification to the VB code. Completion of the project included installation training and implementation of a disaster recovery plan. Technologies used: Windows NT 4.0 Server, Windows 2000 Server, Microsoft SQL Server 6.5 & 2000, Visual Basic 5.0 & 6.0, Crystal Reports 5.0 & 6.0, , ADO, MDAC and Visual Source Safe.

BlueSuit Inc (2 months): Worked as an Analyst with the Product Manager, Project Manager and the Director of IT Strategy to develop an application development and implementation methodology. The methodology included definition of processes and procedures for defining Business Requirements; implementation of Change Management; development of Vision and Scope; and Project Management Procedures. Technologies used: Windows 2000 Professional, Microsoft Office 2000 including Microsoft Project 2000, and Visual Source Safe.

StarCom/Leo Burnett (4 months): Served as the Project Manager and Senior Developer for a global e-Business solution that performed transactional data capture and real-time reporting functionality. The application was designed to be database driven so that the least amount of programming would be required as business needs changed. Coordinated system upgrades and data integration needs to provide for anticipated access needs. Performed Quality Assurance on project deliverables and documentation. Technologies used: Internet Information Server, Windows NT Server 4.0, Windows 2000 Server, Windows 2000 Professional, Microsoft Project, Oracle, Visual Interdev 6.0, Visual Basic 6.0, JavaScript, Visual Basic Script, Active Server Page Technology, ADO, MDAC, COM technology, HTML, DHTML, and Visual Source Safe.

Accenture (2 months): This project was divided into multiple components that were spread over a year with references to previous projects. Development primarily involved work with Microsoft Access databases with links to Microsoft SQL Server. Responsibilities included database design including tables, relationships and queries; GUI interface design with Access Forms and through Excel spread sheets; and intensive reporting with Access Reports. Technologies used: Microsoft Access 97 & 2000, Microsoft SQL Server 7.0, Microsoft Office.

Various Corporate Web Sites: Various Internet/Intranet e-business/e-commerce web sites from multiple corporations and smaller companies. These projects often overlapped each other and other higher profile projects. Examples are www.egiftsfromtheheart.com, www.centralfloridabox.com, www.midastouchgold.com, and www.intellipute.net . Responsibilities included web site design, web site development, graphic design, and site administration. Norstan Consulting Senior Consultant & Delivery Services Manager        10/98 – 05/2000

Projects

Delivery Services Manager: Responsibilities included management of all active client engagements. I directed the implementation of Norstan Consulting's Project Management Methodology. Special responsibilities included review of weekly status reports, change order requests, project cost and time lines. Part of my job descriptions was to remain billable to clients 50% of the time as a Senior Consultant. Often my work week extended well past the normal 40 hours.

Forsythe Technology (6 months): Worked as senior programmer analyst and project manager for a team developing a web-enabled proposal generation application to increase the productivity of the sales. Improved the existing manual proposal generation process through a user-friendly automation process. Anderson Consulting (4 months): Worked as a Senior Consultant and mentor to assist junior team members in development of Microsoft Access database applications used to track, manage and report on corporate events, meetings, and planned activities. Technologies used: Microsoft Windows 98/95, Microsoft Office 97, Microsoft Access 97, Microsoft SQL Server 6.5, OLE Automation, Visual Basic for Applications and COM Technology.

Character Link (4 months): Developed an improved security model for connection to a member restricted Internet Web Site. Provided improved data access performance through the use of Visual Interdev’s object scripting model. Modified login methods to connect to Microsoft SQL Server 6.5. Developed testing and development environment. Analyzed existing search engine model and provided alternative solutions for a cost-effective Boolean key word search. The project was designed for use as a multi-user network application, which provides both point-of-sale and back office processing. Analyze existing software and design a relational database model to resemble existing system. Develop client interface for new data structure. Handle financial calculations to 7 decimal point precision. Communicate with central processing center via dial up connection. Implement full security and password encryption. The application was designed for a global market and was installed in dozens of countries. Other duties include administration of NT LAN.
